Heidelberg's Brooks Sets NCAA All-Division Rushing Record

Brooks
Saturday, in the season finale against Baldwin Wallace, Heidelberg junior running back Cartel Brooks set an NCAA all-division single-game rushing record of 465 yards.

The record he broke had been set just a few weeks ago, when Western Connecticut State's Octavias McKoy ran for 455 yards. Brooks's big day returned the NCAA record to the hands of an AICUO institution: McKoy broke Dante Brown's record of 441 yards, which he set for Marietta College in 1996.

Brooks scored three touchdowns in Heidelberg's 41-14 victory; in addition, he set a new school record with 1,704 yards on the season. Earlier this season, he set a new single-game school record by gaining 337 yards against AICUO member Otterbein.
